Everything people ask us before a demo

Answers to the questions we are asked most often. Yours isn’t here? Write to us: you will talk directly to the team that designs G-ordon.

G-ordon at a glance

What is field service management software?
It is the tool that brings the whole job cycle together: the request, scheduling, work in the field, the job report and analysis. G-ordon is French software of this kind (also known as FSM, Field Service Management): the office and the technicians work from the same information, instead of juggling phone calls, paper and Excel files.
Which industries is G-ordon designed for?
For every field service business: social landlords (in-house maintenance, check-in and check-out inventories, inspection visits), water and sanitation services (networks, meters, inspections), property surveyors, service companies and IT field services. A line of work is simply a type of job, a field form and a report template: it can be added without any development.
What makes G-ordon different?
Three things. The form fits your trade, not the other way round: every job report is built for your business. In the field, no signal does not mean no work. And you deal directly with the team that designs the product, in Toulouse, not with a middleman.

In the field

Does G-ordon work offline?
Yes. The technician’s schedule is stored on their phone or tablet: with no network, they can view their jobs and fill in their job reports (photos, sketches, signature). Everything is sent automatically when the network returns, with nothing to do. See offline mode.
Do we need to install an app from an app store?
No. The field app installs from the browser on the phone or tablet, and updates automatically. No app store deployment to manage.
What can a job report contain?
Whatever your line of work requires: conditional questions, lists, rating grids, measurements, annotated photos, scale sketches with G-Plan, barcodes or QR codes, signature. Input checks and calculations prevent omissions, and the office receives an accurate job report from the very first entry.
How does meter reading work?
The meter reader identifies the meter, enters the reading even offline and takes a photo; G-ordon checks that the reading is consistent on the spot, and the office only reviews doubtful readings before exporting them to billing. See meter reading.

In the office

How does scheduling work?
The schedule is built with the mouse, by drag and drop, in day, week and per-technician workload views. One-off jobs, recurring jobs or campaigns of several thousand: each one lands in the pocket of the right technician. Route planning assistance is available as an option. See scheduling.
Can G-ordon produce our reports in our own format?
Yes. With G-ordon Almanach, included in the base offer, job reports become Word or PDF reports based on your templates, ready to send.
Can G-ordon talk to our ERP, GIS or CMMS?
Yes. Optional connectors are available for ARAVIS and DUNE (social housing ERPs), Dolibarr, Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint, Topkapi remote monitoring and WM-Bus walk-by or remote meter reading. For your other tools: Excel exports, a REST API documented in OpenAPI format (Premium plan), imports, webhooks or custom development. See integrations.

Hosting and security

Where is our data hosted?
Production in France, emergency backup in the EU. The platform is hosted by Scaleway (iliad group), in its Paris region, on a hybrid infrastructure: Elastic Metal dedicated servers and Scaleway Elements cloud services. Each customer has its own database; documents and photos are kept separate.
Is your hosting provider certified?
Yes: Scaleway is certified ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security, and HDS for hosting health data (source: Scaleway). These certifications belong to our hosting provider; on our side, the team that develops G-ordon is also the team that monitors the platform.
Who can see our data, and how can we tell?
Access is restricted to the users you create, according to their role. With G-ordon Radar, included in the offer, every access to your platform is logged and unusual behaviour is flagged.
What about the environmental impact?
Our hosting provider powers its data centres with wind or hydroelectric power, certified by guarantees of origin, uses no drinking water to cool them and extends the life of its servers to up to 10 years (2024 indicators published by Scaleway). On our side, photos are compressed by G-ordon Comète so they travel without waste.

Offer and rollout

How much does G-ordon cost?
The Standard plan starts from €20 excl. VAT per user per month: scheduling, offline field app, job reports, Word or PDF reports with G-ordon Almanach, exports, G-ordon Radar. The Premium plan is on quotation. Full details are on the Pricing page.
How does the rollout work?
Step by step, each step signed off. We start from your business: your trades, your field forms, your report templates. Each step is approved with you before the next one, and the team stays by your side after go-live.
Can we see G-ordon on our own cases?
Yes, that is exactly how we work: the demo starts from your use cases, not from a generic presentation. Book your demo.
