Campaigns in batches

The meter list comes from your information system or a file, then is split into batches.

The right meter, every time

The camera reads the serial number, and the reading is entered with a photo, even with no signal.

Checked on entry

G-ordon checks the reading’s consistency on site. A doubtful reading is sent to the office.

Straight to billing

Approved readings go to your billing tool, through the API or by file export.

A reading round means thousands of meters, addresses that are sometimes hard to reach, and a bill that depends on every figure. G-ordon organises the campaign, guides the reader in the field and only lets checked readings go to billing.

In the field, no signal doesn’t mean no work.

01

From the meter list to the campaign

Everything starts with the list of meters. It comes from your information system, or from a simple file import, and is then split into batches.

  • Campaigns tracked by status: to schedule, scheduled, completed, with issues.
  • Scheduling with the mouse: each batch is placed on a reader’s schedule, in day or week view.
  • Automatic visit notices: customers are notified, and the notice is replaced if the visit moves.
  • As an option, scheduling assistance suggests optimised routes for each reader.
02

In the field, the reading is checked on entry

The reader finds the meter in their list or on the map. The camera reads the serial number: no doubt about which meter was read. They enter the reading, take a photo of the dial, and G-ordon checks consistency on the spot.

All of this works with no signal: the day is stored on the device, and data entry syncs as soon as the network returns. Discover offline mode.

03

Doubtful readings go back to the office

An inconsistent reading, an inaccessible meter, a finding to redo: these special cases are isolated instead of getting lost in the mass. In the office, the manager sees the reading entered, the previous reading and the reader’s photo.

  • Approve the reading if it is correct.
  • Correct it using the photo.
  • Schedule a recheck on site.

Every decision is added to the meter’s history: who did what, and when.

Meter replacement and remote reading

Meter replacement follows the same campaign logic, from batch to final review: old and new readings, serial number, seal, then export to billing.

For equipped meter fleets, G-ordon can receive remote meter readings and telemetry alarms in the same tool. Walk-by readings and remote data come together on the meter record, with the history of all its visits.

05

From campaign to billing

The manager tracks the campaign’s progress: jobs completed, in progress and still to do, and pending issues. Approved readings go to your billing tool, through the REST API or by file export, and the campaign review is exported to Excel. See also our water and sanitation industry page.

Frequently asked questions

Can meter readers work with no signal?
Yes. Meter identification, reading entry, photo and consistency check all happen on site, in no-signal areas and basements alike. Everything syncs when the network returns.
What happens when a reading looks inconsistent?
The reader is alerted on entry and can check on site. The doubtful reading is then sent to the office, where the manager approves it, corrects it or schedules a recheck.
How do readings reach our billing software?
Approved readings are sent through G-ordon’s REST API or by file export (Excel, CSV), depending on what your billing tool can receive.
Does G-ordon also handle remotely read meters?
G-ordon can receive remote meter readings and telemetry alarms in the same tool as walk-by readings. The details depend on your equipment: let’s discuss it during a demo.
