Water services and meter reading teams

A water meter reading campaign, from import to report

In one minute, follow a complete reading campaign: the meter list imported and split into batches, visit notices sent automatically, the reading entered offline and checked on site, doubtful readings decided in the office, then the export to billing. That’s G-ordon, in action.

Step by step

What you have just seen

From the meter list to the campaign report: five steps, with the office and the field working on the same information.

  1. Prepare

    The campaign arrives

The meter list comes from the information system or an import, then is split into batches.

  2. Perform

    In the field, even offline

The meter reader identifies the meter, enters the reading and takes a photo. Consistency is checked on site by G-ordon.

  3. Check

    Anomalies are isolated

A doubtful reading is flagged to the office. The manager validates, corrects or schedules a check.

  4. Transfer

    Readings go to billing

Once back online, everything syncs. Validated readings go to the billing system.

  5. Manage

    Progress at a glance

The manager tracks the campaign by status and exports the report in one click.

What you gain

A campaign you steer, instead of one you endure

What the film shows in one minute, your meter readers and managers live across thousands of meters.

Batches, not endless lists

The meter list comes from your information system or a simple Excel or CSV import, then is split into batches assigned to each meter reader. Visit notices go out automatically.

The meter reader never stops

Camera to identify the meter, reading entry, photo: everything works offline, in a meter pit or at the bottom of a basement. Syncing happens when the connection returns.

Errors stopped at the source

A reading lower than the previous one? G-ordon flags it on site, then sends it back to the office. The manager approves it, corrects it or schedules a check.

Billing fed cleanly

Only approved readings go to billing, by Excel or CSV export, or through the API. The campaign report exports in one click.

The same workflow, with your meters

The film shows a water meter reading campaign. For you, it might be a meter replacement programme, a sub-meter reading or a check of bulk meters. In G-ordon, a trade is a job type, a field form and a report template: they are configured from your documents, with no development.

In the field, no signal doesn’t stop the work.

What we look at together during the demo

  1. Your meter base: loading it from your files, identification by barcode or QR code, reading history.
  2. Your checking rules: checks on entry, required photos, the anomaly reasons specific to your service.
  3. Your campaign: splitting into batches, visit notices, tracking by status and the final report.
  4. Your data exchanges: the REST API and the exports that let G-ordon talk to your billing software.

Frequently asked questions

How does the meter list get into G-ordon?
Through a file import (Excel, CSV or JSON), or from your information system through the G-ordon REST API. Meters become assets, with their address, serial number and reading history.
How does G-ordon spot a doubtful reading?
Entry checks compare the reading taken with the expected values, for example the previous reading. The meter reader is alerted on site and can re-enter the reading or add a photo; the reading stays flagged in the office, where the manager approves it, corrects it or schedules a new visit.
What happens when a meter cannot be accessed?
The meter reader records it in the form, with a photo if needed. The meter shows up among the anomalies in the office, which can schedule a new visit and notify the customer with a new notice.
Are meter readers' routes calculated automatically?
The schedule is built batch by batch, on the graphical planner, and each meter reader finds their meters as a list, in a calendar or on the map, with GPS guidance. A scheduling assistant that suggests routes is available as an option: if you are interested, we present it during the demo.
Can we see this workflow with our own meters?
Yes, that is the whole point of the demo: we start from your meter file, your checks and your billing export format, and show you the campaign with your own use cases. Request a demo.

G-ordon, every day in the field

A platform that runs, every single day

Field teams and back offices rely on it every morning, with or without a network. Here is what that adds up to over a year.

1,500 different users every day
  • 250,000 requests processed per day
  • 90M requests processed per year
  • 20,000+ logins per month
  • 1 in 3 exchanges sent from the field app
  • 70 GB of field data received in one month

Measurements from the logs of the G-ordon production platform, all customers combined, from October 2025 to September 2026. Rounded values. Different users per day: all customer platforms combined.
